What the works include
- Replacement of the equipment.
- Reconfiguration of the hydraulic circuits.
- Installation of automation, monitoring and remote control systems.
- Integration of alarms and safety protections.
- Testing and commissioning of the installation.
Moving to intermittent supervision changes the operating cost of a substation: no attendant on shift, but in exchange the automation and the protections have to be complete — which is why the alarms and the commissioning are part of the same job, not a later stage.
