ISCIR Press Release - GEFIL Nonconforming Containers
The ISCIR communiqué is particularly important in situations where various issues arise related to Fire Prevention and Extinguishing inspections.
In summary, it appears that the containers used and sold under the "TOF" and "CE0029" markings between 2018 and 2019 by GEFIL S.A. do not meet quality standards and are declared non-compliant. Also, the measure of withdrawal from the market of these containers was not fully implemented by GEFIL SA.
All authorized economic operators are asked, if they identify extinguishers that have this type of container to draw up a report of non-compliance specifying that their continued use is prohibited and to include a table with the headings: holder, type of extinguisher , number of pieces. The report will be sent to the holder for science to ISCIR, within 5 days from the date of preparation.

"Concidering:
- correspondence of the notified body APRAGAZ (with identification number 0029), registered at ISCIR with no. 5553 / 19.06.2020, in which it specifies that the fire extinguisher containers marked “TOF” and “CE0029” do not have the conformity assessment carried out by them, and the manufacturer YUYAO TIAN BO FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT CO.LTD by them;
- that this type of container was used in the manufacture of the flags made available on the market in 2018 and 2019 by GEFIL SA based in Ploiești;
- that following the verifications performed by the specialized inspectors within ISCIR, it was found that GEFIL SA did not fully implement the measure of withdrawal from the market of non-compliant extinguishers, a measure ordered by ISCIR on 11.12.2019;
We inform the owners that the extinguishers that have this type of container are non-compliant and their continued use is prohibited. We ask legal entities authorized for technical supervision of filling, periodic technical inspection and repair, if they identify extinguishers that have this type of container to draw up a report of non-compliance specifying that their continued use is prohibited and to includes a table with the headings: holder, extinguisher type, number of pieces. The minutes will be sent to the holder for scientific purposes at ISCIR, within 5 days from the date of preparation. "
